🌿 Overview
Purpose: Soothes the scalp and supports restful evenings; leaves hair soft and nourished.
Dosha Focus: Vata (calming)
🪔 Ingredients
- 100 ml Almond Oil (base) — or 70 ml Almond + 30 ml Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Brahmi Powder
- 1 tsp Jatamansi (Spikenard) Powder
⚗️ Preparation
- Warm the oil(s) on the lowest flame (do not boil).
- Whisk in Brahmi and Jatamansi powders; keep on low heat for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off heat, cover, and let infuse until cool. Strain through a fine cloth into a clean amber bottle.
💆 How to Use
At night, apply a small amount to scalp, temples, and hairline. Massage gently for 3–5 minutes. Leave on 30–60 minutes (or overnight) and cleanse next day. Use 2–3× weekly.
🌸 Why This Works
Brahmi is traditionally used as a medhya (mind-supporting) herb that soothes the scalp, while Jatamansi is prized for calming and grounding properties. A lightweight almond oil base carries the actives and adds softness and shine.
🧴 Storage & Shelf Life
Store in a cool, dark place. Shelf life ≈ 3 months.
✨ Optional Add-ons
Add 1–2 drops Lavender Essential Oil per 30 ml for a relaxing aroma, or blend in 10% Sesame Oil for a warmer feel in cooler months.
